PEDN started with a goal of transforming education through working with and complementing other efforts using ‘a learning without borders model’. This was achieved by creating new learning spaces where practical, and fun activities were undertaken to fill the gap of rote learning and training. Through PEDN’s contribution, the national curriculum body prioritized and integrated financial literacy, social and business entrepreneurship, and new teaching pedagogies which extended learning beyond the four walls of the classroom. PEDN continues with this work to extend these benefits to other levels of education.
Established in 2004 as a non-profit organization, The Private Education Development Network (PEDN) has existed as a leader in promoting and integrating entrepreneurial teaching and learning and financial education in formal and informal education systems in Uganda.
Over the years, we have extended technical expertise to the government of Uganda, financial institutions, Micro, small and medium enterprises and other private and public entities through consultancy, business development services, local and international research. This has made us stand out as a key contributor to financial, entrepreneurship and Business development in Uganda.
